Account & data deletion
TripMeter does not create TripMeter accounts. Core trip and vehicle data stays on your device. Optional Google Sign-In is used only so you can back up to a TripMeter folder in your own Google Drive — not to register an email or password with us.
What “account” means here
There is no TripMeter username, password, or cloud profile hosted by Infomania. If you never connected Google Drive, there is nothing to delete on Google’s side for TripMeter backups — you can simply clear or uninstall the app to remove local data.
If you signed in with Google for Drive backup, Google manages that sign-in. TripMeter only requests access to files it creates in your Drive (the app’s TripMeter folder).
Recommended steps (full removal)
Do both of the following if you want TripMeter-related Drive data and app access removed:
1. Delete TripMeter data in Google Drive
- Open Google Drive on the web or in the Drive app.
- Find the folder named TripMeter (created when you used Drive backup).
- Delete the folder, or delete all files inside it.
- Empty Drive trash if you want the files permanently removed from Google’s recoverable trash.
This removes the backup files TripMeter uploaded. Signing out alone does not delete those files — they remain in your Drive until you delete them.
2. Sign out of Google in TripMeter
- Open TripMeter on your phone.
- Go to Settings.
- Find Google Drive / backup settings and choose Sign out (or disconnect Google).
Sign-out disconnects TripMeter from your Google account on that device. It does not erase files already stored in Drive, and it does not delete your Google account itself.
3. Optional — revoke app access in Google
- Open Google Account → Third-party access.
- Remove TripMeter if it appears in the list.
4. Optional — remove data on your device
- Delete trips, vehicles, and other records inside the app, or
- Clear app storage in system settings, or
- Uninstall TripMeter
Local data is not stored on TripMeter servers. Removing the app (or clearing its storage) removes it from that device.
What each action does
- Delete TripMeter folder in Drive — removes uploaded backup files from your Google Drive.
- Sign out in the app — stops TripMeter from using that Google account for Drive until you sign in again.
- Revoke access in Google Account — withdraws TripMeter’s permission at the Google account level.
- Clear / uninstall the app — removes local trip and vehicle data from the device.
Subscriptions
Optional purchases are managed by Apple or Google through your store account. Cancelling a subscription or requesting a refund is done in App Store / Google Play settings — not by deleting Drive files.
